Charles Coghill, who had already opened and managed two large showrooms in Fayetteville had had his eye on Moore County for quite some time but expanding into a new market meant doing some homework. Before making the final decision Coghill and his business partner looked at properties in Sanford, Spring Lake and Aberdeen before looping back to Southern Pines and choosing the first storefront they had considered.

Located at 1650 U.S. 1, between CrossFit 611 and Buffalo Wild Wings, the building offered plenty of space for their new venture, now all they needed was a name.

Rococo Furniture was chosen as the name and 13 manufacturers’ product lines were selected to fill the new store. Now you can find all types from entry level furniture up to high-end options. Some of the more popular name brands include Ashley, Lane, USA Premium Leather, Jackson Catnapper, AICO, and Scott Living by Coaster Furniture — styled by HGTV’s Property Brothers.

The two-room gallery offers a variety of living room, dining room and bedroom furniture, some with modern edges and clean lines, others with the exuberant curves and natural forms that define the 18th century Rococo style. If you can’t find what you’re looking for in the gallery, there are catalogs at the ready, and for bargain hunters they offer a discounted package deal. Financing and layaway is available.
