Candace Cameron Brock grew up on a farm in Raeford in the Five Points area and Billy Brock grew up in Southern Pines. Candace always knew she wanted a career with animals. She attended Clemson University and earned a degree in Animal Science. Billy attended Appalachian State University and majored in Business.

After managing veterinary hospitals for several years, Candace saw a need for pet boarding that offered more than the traditional small cage or kennel. Candace, with her years of pet care experience, and Billy with his building and computer experience thought they could offer more for pet families.

Five Points Pet Resort was built in 2004 close to the Carolina Horse Park (Five Points Horse Park at the time) just over the county line in Hoke County. A true pet resort where clients were offered bigger, more hotel-like accommodations for their pets. And where the staff was more dedicated to each individual pet and offered longer pet care over a 24 hour period.

It turned out that active duty soldiers and their families found Five Points Pet Resort to be a place that could meet a lot of their needs while away during extended absences. Instead of having to surrender their family pet or burden friends and family members, Five Points offered a great professional option. Their pets did exceptionally well and with a significant extended stay discount and extra added services for pets, active duty men and women found keeping their beloved pets at Five Points to be budget friendly too! Five Points Pet Resort has cared for over 100 military pets ranging from 30 days to two years since they opened. Finding a way to serve the military community has been one of the proudest things we do.

In 2016, they had an opportunity to purchase Sandhills Pet Resort in Vass from Willard Rhodes. Because of the convenient US Hwy 1 location, it offered a great way to to expand and offer new services, like doggie daycare where clients could drop off their playful pups before work for a day of engagement and exercise.

Today, Billy and Candace are active owners at both locations splitting their time managing, maintaining and continuing to concentrate on excellent customer service for clients and the best quality care for their dogs and cats.

Billy and Candace were high school sweethearts and have been married for 20 years. They have two children, Rebecca and Will, two English Mastiffs and a very spoiled Boston Terrier.
