Along with a tribute to our veterans, the theme of the concert will be
a tribute to Emerson Cole and his "The Big Bands Are Back" radio
program which ran for 33 years on WIOZ and WIOZ-FM until his death in
2012. The band will recreate portions of a live "The Big Bands Are
Back" radio broadcast from November 13 and 14, 1998." The Big Bands
Are Back" radio program was divided into three one-hour segments. The
first hour was music by request, the second was music with a common
theme or title. The third was a recreation of a live broadcast from
the big band era.
