Women voters advocates redistricting voters
The Moore County League Of Women Voters yesterday delivered a study to commissioners which advocated redistricting in order to equalize voter representation. Currently, each commissioner and school board member is elected to represent one of five districts. In the case of the school board, three at-large members are also chosen. In its report, The League Of Women Voters says it’s a question f fairness to equalize voting district populations based on the 2010 census. In a sample resolution the organization calls on lawmakers to act swiftly by establishing new voting district lines no later than December 31st.
