New statue adornes entrance to The O'Neal School

Three life-size bronze statues of children playfully cavorting now decorate the oval in front of the Activities Center of The O’Neal School in Southern Pines. The newly dedicated center is named for Hannah Marie Bradshaw who died six years ago in a traffic accident. The statues are by acclaimed sculptor Gary Lee Price. They are a gift to the school from her parents who chose that as a way to preserve the memory of their once shy little fourth-grader who blossomed in the close-knit O’Neal Environment. The Bradshaws have also established a scholarship in their late daughters name for a student who might otherwise not be able too afford O’Neal’s Tuition. Another Daughter, Danielle, Is a 2010 graduate of O’Neal who starts her Sophomore Year at Washington and Lee University this fall. In staying involved at O’Neal, Jean and Stan Bradshaw say they are motivated by a sense of civic responsibility. Say Stan, “We are convinced that a thriving O’Neal School is critically important to Moore County and the surrounding area.”
