County budget vote to happen at June 21st meeting

County Commissioners won’t convene a special meeting to adopt next year’s budget after all. Instead, the important vote will be part of the June 21st Regular Meeting Agenda. The change in dates was occasioned by the illness of Commissioner Jimmy Melton, who is undergoing tests at the Reid Heart Center in Pinehurst. Melton, whose ticker has given him trouble before, fell ill during this week’s meeting of the month. Commissioner Larry Caddell reports his colleague on the five-member board suffers from an irregular heartbeat. Says Caddell, “I am optimistic they can stabilize his heart rate soon and he can go home in three or four days.”
