Police help to nab stealing employees at local firm
A Southern Pines Firm which sells imported merchandise asked for police assistance in tracking down a large volume of stolen inventory. Randy Saunders, who owns Imports Exclusive, told authorities it was discovered only recently that stealing had been going on over a period of several years. So extensive was it that Moore County Sheriff’s Investigators located some of the missing items in thrift shops outside the county. Using business records along with information supplied by co-workers, investigators determined that an employee aided by an accomplice ravaged the business undetected for years. Arrested and charged with felony larceny are 59-year-old Dexter White of Cameron and 54-year-old George Haley of Aberdeen. Other law enforcement agencies within the county are expected to add to the charges.
