Attempted child kidnapping, Sheriff seeks help in identifying suspect

SandhillsTribune.Com - Sheriff Lane Carter is requesting assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for the attempted Kidnapping of a 13 year old child. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. March 14, 2013 near the intersection of River Road and Glendon-Carthage Road. This area is near the Moore, Lee and Chatham county lines in the Glendon area of Moore County.

The suspect is described as a black male between 30 to 40 years old. He is bald and clean shaven. He is 5’10” to 6’ 0” foot tall, medium build, and a medium to dark complexion. He was wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans with black boots. The victim describes him as having a deep voice.

The suspect was driving a dark colored older model small truck possibly black or dark blue. The truck is a two wheel drive two door without an extended cab.

According to law enforcement, the child was able to escape running away from the man. The child was not physically injured in the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Moore County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 947-2931.
