Hike 2 Help raising funds for MCAAP Military Child Access Assistance Program

SandhillsTribune.Com - Elizabeth O'Brien, a freshman at Pinecrest High School, has begun raising funds for MCAAP, Military Child Access Assistance Program, sponsored by MMIA.  The program assists active duty service members and veterans who have children with special needs who require handicap accessibility into their homes.

Elizabeth is planning a 5k "Hike 2 Help" event on May 18th in Pinehurst.  The event will begin at the picnic shelter at Camelot Park.  She is honored to have the event sponsored by MMIA, Military Missions in Action and the Village of Pinehurst.

The idea of the Hike is to develop a team of 10 and raise money as the team.  The team that raises the most money for the event will receive a prize and the knowledge that they will be helping a very special child.  There will also be a spirit award for the team that shows the most spirit during the hike.  There is also space for those individuals who just want to come out and support an amazing new cause.

Applications for the Hike can be obtained through The Village of Pinehurst Special Events or email  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
