Sheriff reports arrest of 2nd man wanted in robbery

SandhillsTribune.Com - Sheriff Lane Carter reports that the second suspect involved in the February 14, 2013 robbery of Willis Blackmon has been located. Hoke County Sheriff’s Office assisted Moore County Investigators today with the apprehension of Marques Long.

Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Marques Odell Long, 31, 10654 N.C. Hwy 211 East, Aberdeen, N.C. Long was charged with one count of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count felony possession with intent to sell/ deliver marijuana, one count misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, one count felony possession of a firearm by a felon, one count misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon, and one count misdemeanor assault on a public officer. Long was confined in the Moore County Detention Center under a $500,000. 00 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for March 7, 2013 in Moore County District Court in Carthage.

Mr. Long has also been charged with drug offenses in Hoke County that included possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, two counts trafficking in opium, and resisting a public officer. The bond for these charges was $250,000.00 increasing his total bond to $750,000.00
