A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in Southern Pines. The accident happened between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM on US Highway 15-501 at the intersection with Murray Hill Road. The injured person was transported to the hospital in Pinehurst by ambulance.

Responding to the accident were units from Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Southern Pines Police Department.
