Moore County Commissioners have approved funds for major airport runway improvements in time ofr the 2014 U-S Open Golf Championships here. The 3-point-2 million dollar project will be financed by grants from the North Carolina Department Of Transportation, federal grants and occupancy tax proceeds diverted to the airport authority. Release of the funds will perimt an expedited start on runway extension and safety projects.
