Two local stores fined for price-scanning errors
Two Aberdeen Dollar General Stores have been fined for price-scanning errors, according to the state agency which has jurisdiction over such matters. The Dollar General on Route 5 and the one on Sandhills Boulevard were each assessed $1,365.00 in penalties after inspections by the state department of agriculture and consumer services. In a survey of randomly selected items, the Route 5 Store had a4-percent error rate.The error rate for the Sandhills Boulevard Store was 3-point-3 percent. Action is taken if a store exceeds a 2-percent error rate after two inspections.
