Firsthealth reopens Richmond Memorial
Firsthealth Of The Carolinas reopened the doors of Richmond Memorial Hospital yesterday after determining that the threat posed by a colony of bats no longer existed. Hospital officials and inspectors from the Richmond County health Department, say they are satisfied that efforts to eradicate the infestation of Mexican Free-Tailed Bats were successful. As a precautionary measure during the emergency, Richmond Memorial’s 14-bed patients were transferred ot other hospitals. Firsthealth, from its headquarters in Pinehurst, serves 15 counties. It operates several clinics and three hospitals with a total of 560 beds.
