More wastewater problems in Southern Pines

Southern Pines has been forced to deal with another overflow of wastewater. For the second time in exactly one week, the town reports the escape of untreated wastewater from a manhole. Southern Pines Public Utilities reports that approximately 3,000 gallons spilled into a tributary which feeds into McDeeds Creek. A week ago Southern Pines Was forced to deal with two spills on the same day. Te first spill of untreated sewage from a main near Reservoir Park found its way itot Mill Creek. A second spill from a couple of manholes fed two thousand gallons into Warrior Woods Lake.
