Robbery reported in Food Lion parking lot

In an update to the armed robbery that occurred outside of Food Lion last night, local officials have released more details about the events and the robber. According to Aberdeen Police Department Deputy Chief Foster, 55 year old Aberdeen resident William Brown had parked his vehicle in the parking lot of Burger King and walked to Food Lion to shop. As Mr. Brown departed the store and was nearing his vehicle he was approached by an unknown black male who asked for a cigarette. The subject then immediately pulled a silver color revolver and stuck it into the victims back demanding his wallet. The robber reached into the man’s back pocket and took his wallet, before fleeing on foot east towards North Poplar Street. The robbery suspect is described as a younger black male, who is 6’ to 6’1” tall with a medium build. The man is described as clean shaven and was wearing a black toboggan on his head. He was also reported to be wearing a dark colored sweat shirt. Anyone with details should contact the Aberdeen Police Department at 944- 9721 during business hours or you can call 911.
