Child Abduction Update: George McFalls II
Child Abduction Alert: Please keep your eyes open for 4 year old George McFalls II. The child lives with his mother, however his father picked him up Friday after school and was supposed to return him by dropping him off at school Monday morning. After trying in vain all weekend to contact the child's father with no avail, the mother local resident Christina Kellis, went to Sandhills Children Center where George receives his special needs services and waited in the office for his dad to drop him off, but he never did.
George is 4 years old and has down syndrome so he does not talk well. He is at a little above 2 year old level as far as speech and cognitive skills. He has resided solely with his mother since he was 7 months old and needs to be getting his therapies at the school and be able to keep his doctors appointments coming up.
The local police will not issue an amber alert because the mother does not have custody papers drawn up and his father's name is on the birth certificate. His mother is very concerned about his welfare and very much wants to find him safe and sound and get him back home and in school. If you or anyone you know has any information on this missing child please call 911.UPDATE:
The local media coverage combined with the massive outpouring from area residents on Facebook has brought results in the case. According to the boys mother, the childs father has telephoned the mother this evening because of all the attention. Unfortunately he told her that she should just leave him alone, and she should move on with her life without her son.
The mother has engaged an attorney, and the paperwork should be in front of a local Judge first thing Wednesday morning to ask for an emergency order. We are in close contact with the mother and others involved with this case, and will be bringing readers updates as they happen.
