Fatal Fire Outside Aberdeen Today
An early morning house fire outside of Aberdeen this morning has reportedly resulted in the deaths of two local residents. The fire was reported this morning between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM on Heflin Road off US 15-501 South of Aberdeen. The home was fully engulfed in flames when the first emergency responders reached the scene.
Firefighters with the Pinebluff Fire Department who lived near the fire scene where there minutes after receiving the call for help. Dispatchers told emergency responders that the residents of the house were possibly still inside. Upon their arrival the firefighters kicked in the front door to try and reach the homes residents, however by this point the fire was raging out of control and access could not be made.
Local authorities have not confirmed the deaths, nor have they released any information about the people or who they might be.
Responding to the fire were units from the Pinebluff Fire Department, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Pinehill Fire Department, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Pinehurst Fire Department, Seven Lakes Fire Department, Moore County EMS, the Moore County Fire Marshal’s Office, the Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.This story courtesy of AberdeenTimes.com
