Fayetteville woman runs from police diches pot

A 20-year-old Fayetteville Woman, who fled from Southern Pines Police operating a motor vehicle checkpoint, has been jailed for multiple traffic offences and Marijuana possession. Devaney Ballard has a January 9th hearing in Moore County District Court. Bail was set at $41,000.00. Officers say Ballard attempted to discard a bag of marijuana during a brief chase. Additional marijuana was found in the vehicle. A passenger, 18-year-olod Denise Ballard, was cited for marijuana possession and released pending a hearing.
