Moore's unemployment rate dips in new survey
Moore County’s unemployment rate drifted lower in the most recent reporting period, according to the latest statistics released by the state department of employment security. Moore, unlike the five other regional counties, reported a jobless figure under nine percent while Lee and Montgomery were each at 12 percent. Hoke posted the most respectable number of the five, nine-point-six percent. Scotland County, which owns the prestigious State 4-A Football title, continues to have the highest unemployment in the state, 16-point-6 percent. Although rates fell in 83 of North Carolina’s 100 counties, the state jobless average number f jobless was just shy of 10-percent.
