Fire near Cameron almost under control

A brush fire burning near Cameron has been largely contained after blackening more than 200 wooded acres. The fire, burning along Ponderosa Trail near the Carolina Seasons Subdivision and the Ponderosa Golf Club, was reported to be about 30-percent contained Wednesday Afternoon. Half a dozen forestry crew members, joined by local firefighters, used heavy tracked vehicles, a helicopter and a spotter plane to fight the fire.
