Commissioners this week gave owners of the largest unspoiled tract of land in Moore County permission to build as many as three golf courses on it. Approval of the Pine Forest Zoning Application thus greatly increases the commercial value of the 1600 acres between Pinehurst and West End. A Florida-Based Developer, M-H-K Ventures, says it plans for the land include two Hamlet-Style Communities, one gated, the other a golf resort with a hotel,, miscellaneous resort amenities and a small shopping center. Approval, however, came with two caveats from Board Of Commissioners Chairman Nick Picerno-permission could be revoked if M-H-K fails to submit documentation of a satisfactory water source and state peprmits for an on-site sewage treatment plant.
