Three Moore County Law Enforcement agencies joined forces this week to charge an alleged father and son burglary team with stealing prescription drugs during a break-in at a Vass Pharmacy.
The pair 59-year old Richard Michael Fortner and 22-year-old Richard Michael Fortner The Second are in the Moore County Detention Center charged with a number of drug-related felonies, including trafficking.
When authorities raided their expensive Pinehurst Condo on Sugar Gum lane, they found massive quantities of prescription pills like Oxycontin and Percocet, plus thousands of dollars in cash.
Police say father and son entered Cooper’s Pharmacy after dark by burrowing through a small opening cut in the side of the building.
Bail has been set at 200-thousand dollars each.
