Plane crashes at Moore County Airport |

A single-engine private plane crash-landed while aborting a takeoff yesterday at The Moore County Airport.
Upon landing the high-wing Cessna skidded off the runway into a cement obstruction.
Its nose wheel collapsed and the end of the plane’s left wing was damaged.
Airport Executive Director Carol Thomas says the Pilot, who was not identified, appeared unhurt and remained “Awfully Calm.”
The pilot told Whispering Pines Firefighters that the plane lost power shortly after takeoff.
